CAN’T STOP HIP HOP: THE EDUCATION MOVEMENT
APRIL 6, 2019
HARVARD GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION (HGSE)
13 Appian Way
Cambridge, MA 02138
- HGSE is a three-building campus on a one-way street.
Registration and the welcome session will happen in Askwith Lecture Hall in Longfellow Hall.
Breakout sessions will take place throughout the day in Longfellow Hall and Gutman Library.
Please review this map as a reference: https://www.gse.harvard.edu/about/campus/directions
While there is a security desk in Gutman Library, there is no building security in Longfellow Hall (where the bulk of conference events will take place). Please be sure to keep your belongings with you as we (HGSE nor HipHopEX) are not responsible for any lost, misplaced, or stolen items.
HGSE is located just a few blocks away from the Harvard Square T stop on the redline.
SUBWAY MAINTENANCE: Please note that there will be a shuttle replacing the redline subway service from Alewife to Harvard Square on Saturday, April 6. Please plan your travel accordingly and leave extra time to take into account speed of the bus versus subway.
There is two-hour metered parking on all the streets surrounding the school, however, Cambridge Parking Enforcement is quite diligent. Meter feeding is not allowed -- chances are high that parking enforcement will ticket you if you try to pay the meter beyond the two hours. Additionally, the parking app will only allow you to pay for one two-hour session for the day. (HHEX nor HGSE will reimburse for parking or parking tickets so please consider your options.)
We recommend that you use one of the nearby parking lots indicated on the map. Prices range from $26-40 for the day.
You may also elect to drive to the Alewife T Station and park there ($7/day) and then take the subway 3 stops Inbound to Harvard Square Station.
Please reference this link to locate the nearest parking lots to HGSE and make your parking plan (the rates are included as well).
